Koblenz is located exactly where the Middle Rhine Valley begins - the narrowest and most castle-dense stretch of the Rhine. From here southwards, castle after castle follows until the valley widens again near Rüdesheim and Bingen. No other place on the Rhine offers such quick access to so much medieval history directly from the water.
When is the best time for a Koblenz Rhine cruise?
May to October is the high season – pleasantly warm temperatures and both tours have a full program. September and October are particularly atmospheric: golden autumn light over the vineyards, fewer tourists, and the vintage atmosphere on the bank.
